Backed by Troy: Class of 2025 Earns Over $60,000 in Local Support

TROY, TX – Troy High School’s Class of 2025 is closing out their high school careers with more than tassels and diplomas. The class of 2025 is walking away with over $60,000 in locally awarded scholarships, thanks to the continued support and generosity of area businesses, organizations, and families.
This year, more than 30 scholarships were awarded by community groups committed to investing in the next generation of leaders. The scholarships support a wide range of academic goals, including vocational training, two-year programs, and four-year universities.
Local scholarship highlights include:
- Jarolik Homes Scholarship – to Reed Ketcham, Joseph McMurtry, Sydney Richter, and Gage Letbetter
- Area Churches for Troy Serving (ACTS) – to Luke McIver and Breanna Medrano
- Troy Ex-Students Association – to Luke McIver, Evan Clark, and Erika Padalecki
- Friends of Troy – to Marshall Hall
- Ole' Bucks' Scholarship – to Emanuel Duarte-Mejia, Sydney Richter, Reed Ketcham, and Marshall Hall
- Robert & Ruby McKee Memorial – to Bailey Wormstadt
- Troy Education Enrichment Foundation (TEEF) – to Grayson Williams, Cadence Sen, Erika Padalecki, and Sariah Kaipat
- Temple-Belton Board of Realtors (TBBOR) – to Micah McKissick
- PEO Scholarship – to Sariah Kaipat
- I Bleed Maroon Scholarship – to Izzy Garcia, Sydney Richter, Joseph McMurtry, Shelby Eddlemon, and Breanna Medrano
- Temple Rotary College Tour Scholarship - to Emmanuel Duarte-Mejia, Learson Murray, Ariana Stephens, Shelby Eddlemon
- 1791 Scholarship – Sydney Richter and Grayson Williams
- Ed "PaPa" Grisham Memorial –to Sydney Richter
- Shane Black Memorial – to Reed Ketcham
- Jon Bennett Memorial – to Reed Ketcham
- Bud Gamet Memorial – to Dante Thomas
- HC Arthur Memorial – to Carlye Arthur, Wesley Hill, and Emmarie Dick
- Bob Preece Backyard Bull Bash – Ty Hirrill and Evan Clark
- Melissa Collier Memorial – Luke McIver and Erika Padalecki
- Coffee Chicks Scholarship – to Isaiah Soliz and Ayden Lane
Additionally, scholarships totaling $24,000 were awarded through the Bell County Youth Fair (BCYF) with several recipients receiving matched contributions from generous partners.

- Jeanie Ludwig Memorial Scholarship and BCYF – Bailey Wormstadt

In total, local scholarships awarded to Troy High School seniors reached over $60,000, a powerful reminder of how much the Troy community believes in tomorrow’s leaders.
In addition to local awards, many seniors received major scholarship packages from colleges and universities. These merit-based and athletic scholarships represent a significant step toward making higher education a reality.
Standout awards include:
- Jae Jae Phillips – Over $193,000 in athletic and academic scholarships from Our Lady of the Lake University
- Trinity Vig – $72,000 UMHB President’s Scholarship
- Cadence Sen – $72,000 UMHB President’s Scholarship
- Gage Letbetter – $52,000 scholarship from University of Arkansas
- Shelby Eddlemon – $28,000 scholarship from University of Oklahoma
- Breanna Medrano – $11,000 total in UMHB Dean’s, Sader Day, and UMHB scholarships
- Justine Carpenter – $4,000 Temple College Science Challenge Scholarship
