Homecoming Parade and Pep rally

On Saturday, September 7, hundreds of community members gathered at Trojan Park to celebrate Troy High School’s first-ever Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally.
The event, filled with colorful floats, past and present organizations, and plenty of smiles, was the perfect way to kick off Homecoming 2024.

Troy High School Principal Michelle Jolliff shared her excitement for the event, stating, "Our goal this year is to engage the community through more events so they can share in and celebrate the great things happening at our school."

A group of people cheer on their team in a parade, holding signs that say 'Fight! Trojans Fight!'

The parade began at the old middle school, traveling down South College Avenue, and concluding at Trojan Park, where spectators eagerly awaited the arrival of the Trojans. Featured in the parade were:

  • Troy High School Marching Band
  • Troy Education Enhancement Foundation
  • Troy High School Pep Squad
  • Trojans Football players and coaches
  • Trojanettes Volleyball players and coaches
  • Troy High School Senior Float
  • Troy FFA Float
  • Troy FCA
  • Troy High School Cheerleaders, riding aboard the Troy Fire Department firetruck

Assistant Principal Uptmore welcomed families and the community to the event, with the band kicking things off by performing the national anthem.
The crowd cheered enthusiastically as the football and volleyball teams made their grand entrances.

The 2024 Homecoming Court was also introduced during the event:

  • Laralai Ramos and Joseph Tuck
  • Bre Medrano and Tony Medrano
  • Learson Murray and Reed Ketchem
  • Sydney Richter and Joseph McMurtry

Four young women, wearing tiaras and sashes that say 'Homecoming Court,' stand together on a grassy field.

The rally concluded with a heartfelt message from Coach Brashear, thanking everyone for their support.

“This community pep rally and parade is one way we aim to continue strengthening our ties with community members," Principal Jolliff added. “We look forward to more opportunities like this and are thrilled with the turnout!”

A group of cheerleaders in maroon and white uniforms perform a routine, with the word 'TROY' visible on their shirts.
