January is School Board Recognition Month in Texas, and Troy ISD is proud to honor its trustees for their unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence in our district and for our students.

“Troy ISD is very fortunate to have an outstanding group of dedicated school board members.” Superintendent Neil Jeter shared. “These elected officials serve without pay.  They volunteer countless hours in goal setting, policy making, oversight, budgeting, planning, training, and ensuring a safe environment for academic achievement.  Their primary priorities are always the needs of our students and staff.  I appreciate their exemplary service.”  

This year’s theme, "Leadership for Tomorrow’s Texas," highlights the vital role trustees play in creating meaningful educational experiences and opportunities that prepare students for college, careers, and beyond. Their work ensures that Troy ISD continues to thrive and meet the evolving needs of our community.

To celebrate their service we asked each board member to answer one of the following questions:

1. What inspired you to serve on the school board, and how does that tie into your vision for Texas' future?

2. What is one key initiative or decision you’ve supported that you believe will have a lasting impact on students’ futures?

3. What do you believe are the most critical skills or qualities students need to lead in tomorrow’s Texas? How can schools foster these?

4. Can you share a moment when you saw firsthand the impact of the school board’s leadership on students or the community?

5. How do you work to ensure that every student has access to opportunities that help them succeed and contribute to Texas' future?

6. What do you envision as the biggest challenge for Texas schools in the coming years, and how can school boards prepare for it?
