Familiar Faces in New Places

As she enters her ninth year with Troy ISD, Lori Negron is no stranger to Troy ISD.
With 20 years of educational experience, Lori is ready and well-equipped to take on her new role as the instructional coach at Raymond Mays Middle School. In the final installment of our "Familiar Faces in New Places" series, we spoke with Lori about her transition and her hopes for the upcoming school year.

Lori has aspired to become an instructional coach.
After serving as a 7th-grade RLA teacher and teaching 4th, 2nd, and Kindergarten, she knew her passion was to help other teachers succeed and “do the best for their students.”
To achieve this goal, she earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and has worked toward this milestone.

In her new role, Lori hopes to support teachers in becoming successful in the classroom, ensuring that their hard work and dedication are recognized, particularly through the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program, which is built for Texas school districts to designate and reward top-performing teachers.
She believes that when teachers succeed, it directly translates to student success.

This role is a significant shift from her previous position, where she was in one classroom and one subject area.
Now, she has the opportunity to work across all classrooms and subject areas, offering a broader perspective on the educational needs at Raymond Mays.

Despite the differences, Lori's days remain as busy as ever, filled with the challenges and rewards that come with her new responsibilities.

Lori expressed her deep sense of honor and excitement in stepping into this role, eager to learn and meet the district's expectations while making a positive impact on both teachers and students.

I want to make sure that I am learning all I can with this new role and meeting my district’s expectations.
I am very honored and excited to be given the chance at this new role,” she said.

Likewise, we are pleased and excited to have Lori in her new position here at Troy ISD, the educational center of excellence in learning!
