Troy High School Student Places 5th in State UIL Computer Applications

Troy High School junior Kamrie Shannon recently advanced to State in UIL Computer Applications, and placed 5th on Saturday, May 1st in Liberty Hill. Kamrie is coached by THS technology teacher Christy Berg. Computer Applications is a competition whereby students are given a scenario with detailed directions and specifications. Competitors use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other applications to solve real-world problems. Kamrie, who aspires to be a lawyer, says the skills she has learned will help her in her future career by giving her tools for managing schedules, clients, and data. Kamire plans to return to the UIL Computer Applications contests, next year. Congratulations to Kamrie!
