Troy ISD Announces New Principals for 2024-25 School Year

Troy ISD is proud to announce the naming of new principals at each of our four campuses.

Michelle Jolliff has been named principal of Troy High School. Tim Goodridge will take on the role of principal at Raymond Mays Middle School. Elizabeth McMurtry will be joining Troy Elementary as principal, and Courtney Macal will assume the position of principal at Mays Elementary.

"We are celebrating the past contributions of the principals leaving their current assignments.  And we are celebrating the future contributions of our principals stepping into new roles in Troy ISD.” Superintendent Neil Jeter shared. “ Michelle Jolliff has done an amazing job as RMMS Principal.  I expect she will make a smooth and successful transition to THS.  We welcome Tim Goodridge as he leads RMMS.  He did great work as principal at Belton Middle School, and we anticipate he will provide experienced leadership at our middle school.  We are thrilled to get Elizabeth McMurtry back home as principal of TES after her outstanding tenure as Chisholm Trail Elementary School Principal.  Finally, we are proud to promote another homegrown talent as Courtney Macal moves up from TES Assistant Principal to MES Principal.  Courtney will be a dynamic leader at our primary grade campus. We are grateful to each of these fine administrators as they commit to our pursuit of excellence!”

Jolliff has served in education for over 30 years and has been the head of Raymond Mays Middle School since 2012. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Baylor University and her Masters in Education Administration from Tarleton State University. “I am honored to be the next principal at Troy High School. The traditions of academic and athletic excellence, as well as the many successes of the FFA and band programs, are what make Troy unique and special.  I am excited about this opportunity and a new challenge. Go Trojans and Trojanettes!” Jolliff said.

Tim Goodridge comes to us from Belton ISD. Tim began his career in education teaching 8th grade science in McGregor. Goodridge transitioned to teaching at Belton High School before becoming assistant principal at Belton High School for almost five years before being named the principal at Belton Middle School.

Courtney Macal is stepping into her fourteenth year of education with ten years of leadership experience. “As a proud graduate of Troy ISD, I am deeply honored to serve the staff, students, families, and community members as the new principal of Mays Elementary.” Macal holds her school counseling certification and is a double alumni from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor earning her Bachelor's in Education and a Master's in Counseling from the institution.

Elizabeth McMurtry is wrapping up thirteen years as a campus administrator in Belton ISD, twelve of those years were at the elementary level. She began her educational career as a math teacher, including a successful stint in Troy ISD. “I have been impressed with Elizabeth's talent, intellect, and character for the 27 years I have been in Troy,” said Mr. Jeter.

We are excited to welcome these outstanding leaders to their new roles and look forward to the positive impact they will have on our schools as they commit to our pursuit of excellence!
